A man stood at the Stuttgart Main Station
long wild beard just staring into space
filthy jeans and a denim jacket
hands in his dirt starched pockets
a woman bounded out of the photo shop
a fiver flapping in her fingers
she thrust it at beard, "HIER!"
he recoiled in horror
one hand jumped out of a pocket
"Nein Nein!" he waved the fiver away
"Nimmst doch!" she growled, pushing
I saw confusion crash across her face
"Nein!" he took a step to the side
sought refuge from a pylon
she tried to push it into his jacket
he coiled with pride, "NEIN!"
the woman turned
broken in a moment
stormed in self-righteous rage
soon she'll find a beggar from whom she can rinse her soul
the women forced to work for the men park-sleeping
never say no
there will be plenty of other opportunities
beard pulled a crumpled packet of tobacco from his jacket
and slowly rolled a cigarette
